Haig Point Foundation Sponsors Teachers for Spring Semester

A heartfelt thanks to the Haig Point Foundation, and all those that donate to them, for their support in sponsoring our two associate teachers, Brandon Anderton and Jane Lundgren, this semester. Recent university graduates, Jane and Brandon come well prepared, both in content knowledge and experience, to teach DIIS students this spring.

Brandon graduated in International Relations with a focus on the Americas. He speaks fluent Spanish and conversational Haitian Creole. With his in-depth knowledge of American history and his Spanish heritage, he is excited to bring relevance to studying Spanish and social studies. Brandon also competed collegiately in discus and shot put and will be starting DIIS’s Track & Field Program.

Jane comes to DIIS with a major in Russian and minor in microbiology. Speaking fluent Russian and conversational Korean, Jane has also spent much time in university laboratories across the nation and has co-authored papers in the fields of immunology and rheumatology. She is excited to share this knowledge of lab work and research with the students as she teaches science, marine science, and math.

“The influence of a good teacher can never be erased.” We are so grateful to be supported with the resources to provide so many opportunities for Daufuskie’s middle schoolers to be influenced and taught by interesting and exceptional people.
